William Shakespeare Unit Study — History Heroes Printable Workbook

£3.49

Meet the world's greatest storyteller! This History Heroes workbook brings William Shakespeare to life for children aged 9–10 (Grades 5 & 6) — and it asks nothing of you but a printer and a pencil.

Rather than a dry list of dates, this 22-page workbook lets children do history. They'll read the story of Shakespeare's life in an engaging two-page biography, then put their knowledge to work: catching false facts and fixing them, rebuilding a jumbled timeline (including a cut and paste version for hands-on learners), separating fact from opinion, mapping Shakespeare's England, and taking a trivia quiz packed with genuinely surprising facts — did you know his plays have been translated into more than 100 languages, including Klingon?

The creative activities are where it really sparkles. Children write an acrostic poem using the full challenge of S-H-A-K-E-S-P-E-A-R-E, plan the three questions they'd ask Shakespeare backstage at the Globe, and — my favourite — step into the Word Inventor's Workshop, where they invent three brand-new words and use them in their own mini play script, just as Shakespeare gave us words like "eyeball", "gossip" and "lonely".

A mini research challenge, a reflection page and a certificate of completion round the unit off, and the full answer key at the back means checking work takes minutes, not evenings.

What's in the pack: two-page biography · fun facts · vocabulary match · reading comprehension (2 pages) · true or false · fix the false · timeline challenge · build the timeline (cut & paste) · fact or opinion · your turn · trivia quiz · map it geography activity · acrostic poem · if I could interview · the Word Inventor's Workshop · mini research challenge · reflection page · certificate of completion · answer key
